While searching for a cache, donkeys were brought in to carry the contents back to their vehicles because some locals said, "there might still be an anti-tank mine or two left over from the soviet days."

A year later, an Angolan mine clearing team told the team the area was, ""the most heavily anti-personnel and anti-tank mixed density minefield" they had ever seen. Made the team wonder what the locals had in mind when they told the team it was probably safe. However the team did make the locals travel the path with them.

  • About

We are Helping Heal Heroes and we are your American Veterans. We will strive to successfully complete our mission, to serve our brothers and sister, to speak on behalf of those that can not convey their experiences and their thoughts in a manner civilians will comprehend and to financially assist service members and Veterans with service-connected injuries or illnesses that occurred on or after 9/11/2001.

Helping Heal Heroes will rattle the cages of social normality to assist our brothers and sisters using any tactics we deem necessary. Helping Heal Heroes is not guided by socially acceptability and does not see any significance with America’s negative interpretations of the subcultures that assist us in our efforts in raising awareness, educating the country, and with our fundraising events. Regardless of what subculture our volunteers are from their characteristics of honor, integrity and acts of selfless service to support our service members and Veterans is all we see.
Nothing is unrealistic if you believe it can be done. Helping Heal Heroes believes that with our determination due to the seriousness of the extensive list of issues, injuries and illnesses our brothers and sisters are facing that we will pay any price, so we can complete our mission daily, until every one is educated. With honor and integrity Helping Heal Heroes will see our mission through by ignoring social norms and not alienating any subculture just because society portrays the culture in a negative or unproductive manner. Every single person has it within them to help our heroes who are suffering from injuries, invisible wounds of PTSD, depression, and so many other medical problems. If a group offers assistance, volunteers to help, or wants to help raise awareness then Helping Heal Heroes will not turn anyone away that stands for integrity, has honor within their character, and understands the act of selfless service
